Extended Addressing


The usable address range has extended from 127 to 254, minimising the cost of cabling and control panels

Sub Addressing


Accommodates up to 8 inputs and 8 outputs at each address. Each sub-address can be used within the cause and effects to give greater system flexibility

Rapid Response


ESP uses an interrupt System to guarantee rapid responses from and device. The time lapse between operation of a call point and indication of fire on the system is typically less than 1.5 seconds

Data Integrity


ESP protocol minimises the possibility of data corruption using a proven combination of algorithms and applies parity and checksum principles to every packet of data

System Tailoring


Advanced controls within the ESP products include variable volumes and tones that allow systems to be tailored to achieve optimum performance

Unique-ID


Each ESP device has a unique type code. This allows the system to regonise what device type the alarm has been gereated from. The ESP protocol can support 240 different type codes.

Hochiki has taken its mission to eliminate unwanted alarms to a whole new level by redesigning the chamber structure within its photoelectric smoke detector range. The result is a high performance optical chamber that is equally responsive to all smoke types and helps to reduce the possibility of unwanted alarms.

 

Hochiki’s addressable fire detection equipment is controlled by ESP (Enhanced System Protocol), a high integrity communications platform ensuring virtually error-free communications between the fire alarm control panel and the fire sensing equipment located in the protected areas.

Sensors


Foremost in the range is the ALN-EN Photoelectric Smoke Sensor. Utilising Hochiki's high performance, flat response chamber technology, it provides a high level of false alarm immunity whilst maintaining a superior fire detection capability. It exceeds all requirements of EN54 standards and is unrivalled by any competitor's technology. For applications where risk factors change, the ACC-EN Multi-Sensor incorporates both a photoelectric smoke sensor and a heat sensor which can be used in combination or individually to provide optimum detection with an enhanced immunity to false alarms. ATJ-EN Multi-heat sensors incorporate both fixed temperature and rate of rise heat elements in reaching the fire decision.

Interfaces


A comprehensive range of Input and Output interfaces covers all of the normal integration requirements, from connecting an existing conventional zone to shutting down smoke dampers, closing fire doors and preventing the use of elevators. There is also provision for 24 V to be obtained from the device loop, allowing additional equipment to be powered. All Hochiki interfaces have multiple Input / Output functionality. However, they only take up a single loop address. This provides a very cost effective system solution by minimising the total number of physical devices required to achieve the desired cause & effect requirements. Most interfaces are loop powered to simplify installation. Loop powered sounders and beacons can also provide considerable savings through the reduction of installation costs. These devices consume exceptionally low levels of electrical current and maximise the loop's capacity.

A range of EN54-23 compliant visual alarm devices (VADs) are also available, third-party approved and designed to exceed the demands of the standard to provide the ultimate in flexibility.

Photoelectric Smoke

The ALN-EN(WHT) incorporates Hochiki's newest High Performance Chamber Technology removing the need to use Ionisation Smoke Sensors in the majority of applications. This also allows the sensor threshold level to be increased, thereby improving the signal to noise ratio and reducing susceptibility to false alarms.

Multi Heat Sensor

The ATJ-EN(WHT) incorporates a variable temperature heat element and a rate of rise heat element, both of which are controlled from the Control Panel, allowing either thermal element or both elements simultaneously to be active in making the fire decision.

Multi Sensor Photoelectric

The ACC-EN(WHT) has 3 modes, which are controlled from the Control Panel, allowing either the optical element or thermal element or both elements to be active in making the fire decision. The sensor polling LEDs can be controlled via the Control Panel (pulsing/non-pulsing). The ACC-E smoke chamber can easily be removed or replaced for easy maintentance.

Call Point

Model HCP-E(SCI) is a Manual Call Point with integral short-circuit isolator, which is fully compatible with Hochiki’s ESP analogue addressable protocol.  The unit incorporates a bi-coloured LED, which can be selected as pulsing/non-pulsing

Remote Indicator

The CHQ-ARI is a loop-powered Addressable Remote Indicator, with high-intensity LEDs and a Fresnel lens design which produces a highly visible signal.

The casing exactly matches the Hochiki ESP Sensor range in shape and colour providing seamless integration.

Beacon

The CHQ-AB(WHT) is an addressable loop-powered Beacon, with high-intensity LEDs and a Fresnel lens design which produces a highly visible flash.

The casing exactly matches the Hochiki ESP white sensor range in shape and colour providing seamless integration.

Wall Sounder

Model CHQ-WS2 is an addressable loop powered Wall Sounder innovatively designed to provide a range of tones and volumes with a maximum output of up to 102dB(A) (±2dB(A)) with low current consumption.  The unit is designed to fit to the Standard Base (YBO-R/3(RED)) or the Isolator Base (YBO-R/SCI(RED)).  The sounder is IP rated to IP21 for internal use but it can be made weatherproof by utilising the WS2-WPK Weatherproof Kit, which consists of a specialised back box and gasket set.

Also incorporates an auto shutdown mode* which allows the user to set a fixed time within which the sounder will operate, before automatically silencing itself, ideal for minimising noise pollution.

Base Sounder

Model YBO-BS(WHT) is an addressable loop powered Base Sounder innovatively designed to give a range of tones and volumes with a maximum output of up to 98 dB(A) (±2 dB(A)) with low current consumption. 

The unit is designed to fit to the Standard Base (YBN-R/3(WHT)) or the Isolator Base (YBO-R/SCI(WHT) – from Batch Number 6044) and can be fitted with any of the white ESP Range of Sensors, Beacons or Remote Indicators.  The unit can also be converted into a wall sounder with the simple addition of a Cap (SI/CAP(WHT)). 

The sounder is Ingress Protection rated to IP21 and for internal use only.  An Auto-Shutdown feature allows the user to set a fixed time within which the sounder will operate, before automatically silencing itself, cutting noise pollution.
